Sue Owen trained with the Inland Revenue before moving to Spicer and Pegler to work as an Accountant. She left that firm to start her family, and set up her own practice, Sue Owen Accountants, in 1973. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Cost and Executive Accountants, a Fellow of the Society of Practising Accountants and a registered Business Link advisor.

Dr Ian Christensen is a former Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Manchester University who specialised in statistical methods. He has extensive experience of data analysis in marketing and of statistical modelling.
